innovation day reflection

                     Procedure

One of the biggest obstacles for our group was the positioning of the tracks

It took us so long to figure out the right positioning luckily after a lot of trial and error we managed to finally get it right. Another obstacle was the thing that we were building was very hard for all of us to work on it at the same time so we decided that two people would write and one person would build and the person building would switch after a certain amount of time.

                  Hypothesis

We think that the maglev train will work because there are real maglev trains in real life. In Japan there is one of the only maglev trains in the world. It is also the fastest maglev train in the world right now.

                    problem

how can we provide electricity to outdoor spaces in an energy efficient way for families to enjoy even once the sun begins to set?

                                          Materials

Our group used magnetic tape, cardboard, hot glue, wood, double sided tape and duct tape.

                    Conclusion

I think that our group did a very good job on our project, but I think we spent too much time arguing instead of problem solving.

fractions

I learned the basics of fractions when I was in grade 2 during covid. That helped me a lot because when I was in grade three and four because when we started doing fractions I already knew most of it. I really want to learn about other cool ways to use fractions in math class.

Innovation Day

hi friends this blog post is all about me making a medieval castle out of cardboard for innovation day

here are some pictures of castles.                                            Life in a castle | English Heritage ThreeDee Medieval Castle in Environments - UE Marketplace

different types of pulleys    Medieval castle (Diósgyőr, Hungary) - 3D scene - Mozaik Digital Education and Learning.                      what is a pulley

what is a castle?

a castle is a large building. One type of castle is one with soldiers guarding the walls. Generally queens or kings live in castles. Most castles have a drawbridge.

What is a drawbridge? A drawbridge is a door but not just any door it lowers witch lets people in but it also raises. Drawbridges are a great source of protection and defence.

hypothesis video-

now I will tell you all about the feudal system. A feudal system is a how the people of the medieval society interact. The feudal system is used for seeing who does what. The people least in charge give the most important people such as the king, bishop or pope food, and fight for them when needed in exchange for land.    heres a picture of a feudal system. Feudalism | Medieval Times

lord/serfs

a lord is some one who possess land and gives other people the right to use the  land. A serf is a farmer they have to harvest their own plants just to get food to eat but a large percentage of that food goes to the lords.

my Procedure:

I originally I was going to make a crank. Were I was just going to pull it. Then I decided I wanted to make it a bit more complex so I attached the strings to a stick and then I stuck both sides of the stick and stuck them into the wall and then I hot glued gears on to either side and made another hole in the wall and put another smaller stick in the wall and put a gear in the castle on the stick and the same thing on the outside and that was my gear system.

reflection of learning

I think I can do better on getting the work done when I’m supposed get it done.for example usually I do not get the work done when everyone else has finished . next time, I want to work on my focus. I could work in the learning loft. this will help because it is not as loud, there is not as many people I can distract or be distracted by. Everyone is working quietly and doing the work with the teachers. If I had to stay in class, I could use noise cancelling headphones and use the beanbag. Maybe if there was a separate space without distractions.
